St George Wharf Tower
Client : Brookfield Multiplex
Brookfield Multiplex continues to shape London’s skyline with The Tower at St George Wharf which is one of the tallest residential building in Europe. Located in Vauxhall, our client constructed the shell and core of the building that is 52 storeys high. The slender tower of circular design rises 185 metres towards the summit, where a 10-metre tall wind turbine will provide power for the Tower’s communal areas. The residential tower will afford 232 luxury apartments and will bring a distinctive architectural addition to the River Thames locale.
M.E.L. performed a dual role on this iconic development; firstly providing site assistance to the principal contractor including auditing and monitoring all subcontractors employed on the project, secondly monitoring the installation of the reinforced concrete frame on behalf of a company specialising in formwork. The latter included daily liaison with the developer St George PLC in order to maintain a clear and coherent relationship that proved extremely beneficial as the project neared its competition.
